Formed in the mid of 2016, Light Fog comprises Deepak Assangbam on drums, Suraj Rabha on lead guitars, Joydeep Debroy on bass and Pritam Boro on vocals and keyboards. The band from Guwahati was initially meant to be a duo comprising Deepak and Pritam but eventually both of them met and bonded with Suraj and Joydeep and that is how present-day Light Fog came to be. We speak to Pritam to know more about their music, debut single and more.
How would you describe your sound?
We are into funk, blues and jazz. And we tend to experiment a lot.
What is your debut single ‘That is Me’ about? How has the response been?
The lyrics were written by my cousin brother Gunajit Brahma. I have been reading his writing, and this one called ‘that is me’ is about missing a miss. The response has been very good even though we didn’t promote it much.
What is your song-writing process like?
There are many possible ways to write a song, sometimes it’s the guitar chords and then we add vocals and share the recorded verse with the band mates, everyone comes up with their own parts, we jam and it’s always exciting because magic happens in the jam room.
What can fans expect from you guys in 2017?
We are coming up with an album this year, as well as new music videos and lots of gigs.
