Indie Vibez, a band from Haflong, comprises Prandeep Gorlosa (guitars/lyrics), Sudip Gorlosa (guitars/bass/lyrics), Ankit Chawariya (guitars/bass/lyrics) and Samir Das (vocals). Initially Prandeep, Sudip and Ankit used to have casual jams at home. When friends/families started appreciating the songs composed by them, they decided to take things up a notch and search for a vocalist. Once they found Samir, things fell into place and ‘Indie Vibez’ was formed
How often do you jam?
All of us are busy in our personal/professional lives. Samir is still a student while the rest of us are working. We don’t get much time to jam together and perform live but we still want to make this work. As of now, we are working on making our presence felt through social media. We also hope to perform live in the near future.
What are your songs about? What inspired you to make a song in Dimasa language?
Our first song ‘Safar’ is about the journey of life through difficulties and uncertainties. Our second song ‘Yaadein’ is about the memories of a loved one who is no more.
Prandeep and Sudip are from the Dimasa community and they always wanted to compose a song in their mother tongue. So they composed a rock number ‘Brai Sibarai’ which is about Lord Shiva. It is a prayer to Lord Shiva to show us the right path to success.

How has the response been so far?
We wrote and composed a lot of songs during our casual jam sessions. We have always received great support and appreciation for our music from all our friends. When we recorded and launched our first single music video ‘Safar’, it was appreciated a lot and that motivated us to continue composing and recording songs. Our music video ‘Safar’ was also uploaded by Songdew Media Pvt. Ltd. on their YouTube channel
How would you describe your sound?
We would describe our sound as soft rock. But we are not so much concerned about the technicality of a song or what genre we sound/belong. We just want to make simple melodic music and try to write lyrics which the audience can connect to. We personally listen to all genres. We are inspired from Jal, Strings, Lucky Ali ,Mohit Chauhan, etc.
What plans for 2017?
We already have a lot of half-done songs. In 2017, we want to complete and record them and hopefully release a few music videos as well.
