Northeast is home to many great artistes. Maybe it’s the beautiful landscapes, the friendly people or the one-of-a-kind vibe that inspires people to take up music. Whatever the reason may be, you cannot help yourself be completely blown away with the talent cropping up across the region. Of the many new and young artistes who are making a name for themselves in the local music scene, one name in particular that we think we will be hearing a lot of in the coming years is that of David Thangjam. Based in Aizawl, he is a singer-songwriter. He released two tracks so far on Soundcloud.
How did you get interested in music?
I actually started out by playing a guitar. To be honest, music has always been a part of my life.
How would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as a Electro Pop with ambient and indie influences!
What kind of things or topics do you like to write about?
I mostly like to write love songs and about the obstacles we face daily in our lives.
Musicians you look up to?
First of all, I would have to say John Mayer, Jon Bellion, Matt Healy, etc. I grew up listening to a lot of RnB and hip hop which has been a big influence lately.
You are planning on releasing an EP later this year, how many songs are you looking at and what can people expect?
I am preparing around 3 songs at the moment but let’s see, I might come up with a few more. People can expect some experimental music.
