Saurab Sikdar’s music is a combination of aggressive words and raw emotions. Also known by his stage name Sikdar, the rapper hails from Chabua, Assam. He has been a part of the rapidly growing hip hop culture in the Northeast for the last three years.
In early 2017, Sikdar collaborated with Rain in Sahara on their hip hop track, ‘Black Water’ which won Gold Medal at the Indian Music Video Awards.
Inspired by the hip hop legends like Tupac, Eminem and more, Sikdar initially imitated their verses, but soon took up the pen and pad to start writing originals. His recent release, ‘Thank You’ is a dedication to all fathers.
It is the first single from his debut mixtape, ‘Invisible Scars’. ‘The song is for all the fathers out there who work hard all day and night for the happiness of their families.’ He collaborated with Rasta Levi King from Ghana for the song. It has been produced by Mumbai-based music producer, Har Man and the video has been shot by A Void.
‘I will be releasing each song from the mixtape with a music video, and hopefully by early 2018, the entire mixtape will be out for listeners.’
