Alongside the likes of guitar virtuoso Steve Vai and the legendary Textures, this year the multi-genre festival will feature some fine hip hop acts from India. Team VNe gets in touch with the award-winning rapper Divine, who has been at the forefront of the hip hop movement in India, after the release of his single, Mere Gully Mein.
From Yeh Mera Bombay to Farak, what has been that one thing that has always kept you motivated?
My music is from the people for the people. It’s ‘US’ who keeps me motivated.
How was the experience of sharing the stage with veteran DJ Premier at NH7 Weekender, Pune last year?
Historic. I used to freestyle to all his beats when I started rapping.
When is your collaboration with Nucleya for the upcoming Anurag Kashyap film releasing?
10th November, 2017
Since, this is your first time at Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Meghalaya, what do you have to say to your fans and followers out here?
I’ve been in the Northeast a lot lately and I love its culture and the people. Can’t wait to bring Gully Gang to Meghalaya for the first time.
