ONLINE MUSIC FESTS: A NEW WAY OF WATCHING CONCERTS LIVE!

All the concert lovers of the Northeast, you can now enjoy live-streaming videos of international concerts on your P.C, tablets and Smartphones.  MTV is ready to show you a 24-hour virtual concert which is set to kick off at 3 AM UAE time on June 20, and will feature performances by more than 50 bands and artists spanning rock, indie, pop, R&B and folk. Acts include Hanson, Atlas Genius, Labrinth, Langhorne Slim and Kate Nash.

The performances, accompanied by the fan-picked O Music Awards, will be streamed live from Viacom’s offices in New York, Nashville and Los Angeles. The Roots drummer, Questlove, will provide beats during the festival in a 24-hours ’drum–a-thon’.

Northeast India is one of the hottest spots in the country   for music lovers where every single day a local  band gives live performance. Many international bands have also rocked the region such as MLTR, Fire house, Petra, and Eluveitie. This kind of online live-streaming music festival shows will give the music lovers of all states an awesome opportunity to enjoy it on their electronic screens. As Dermot McCormack, head of connected content for Viacom Music said to XYZ, it’s the first-of-its-kind music festival that’s both connecting artists and fans, and allowing them to participate in the awards and festival in new ways.

These online music festivals will also give an opportunity to the bands of northeast India to come in the frontline, and show their performance live to a huge audience. Recently, many compositions, musicians, and bands garnered explosive popularity after having gone viral  on social media; Why This Kolavari Di by Dhanush, Baby by Justin Bieber, Gangam Style by  Psy,  and now, the new northeast   sensation,  The Journey, by Borkung Hrangkhawl.    Online live music events will, hence, provide the music and music industry of the northeast a huge window to the world.

Hoobstank, an American  band is going to rock Shillong on June 29. Many music lovers are going to miss this program; with online music fests, geographical reasons don’t constrain you from shaking your leg.
