If you are planning to take a trip this month, then Kasauli should be the place to visit. Situated in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, it will be hosting Kasauli Rhythm and Blues Festival 2016 from 25th to 27th March at Baikunth Resort.
Kasauli was a colonial hill station in British India and is situated 77 kilometres away from Shimla and 65 kilometres from Chandigarh which means a memorable road trip with your best buds.
The three day festival will have performances by Mihir Joshi Band, Leslie Lewis, Shilpa Rao, Tabla Maestro & Sultan of Strings, The Local Train and Frisky Pints from Mizoram. And if you thought that is impressive, you should check out the entire line-up which features many other talented musicians and bands from across the country.
When in Kasauli, don’t forget to visit Christ Church which was built in 1853 and Baptist Church built in 1923. The Kasauli Brewery and distillery is also a very interesting place, founded in the 1820s before the establishment of the Kasauli cantonment, it is the oldest extant distillery for ‘scotch whisky’ in Asia.
The Kasauli Regency at Kimmughat is a good option to stay. You will be able to book a room for Rs 3200 per night. A budget option will be the Hotel Shivalik at Kasauli road Dharampur where you will be able to book a room for around Rs 2100.
