Bhargav Choudhury from Guwahati, currently based in LA, has been fond of western music since childhood. At the age of fourteen, he picked up a guitar to play for the first time and has never looked back. An attendee of Musicians Institute, Hollywood, Bhargav recently won the third place in Ibanez USA Flying Fingers Guitar Contest 2017.

‘I wanted to go to America as it is the land of dreams and after my parents saw my potential and dedication towards music, they supported me to get here.’

The competition was organized by the guitar manufacturing pioneers, Ibanez and the main judge of this competition was Paul Gilbert (Razor X, Mr Big) along with a few other judges. ‘In the online competition, Ibanez provided a backing and participants had to compose original guitar solos over it. On the 1st of August, 2017, Paul Gilbert announced the winners of the competition through a video on Youtube. My name was mentioned and Paul Gilbert even played a bit of my solo which made me feel honored.’

Bhargav aspires to become a professional touring musician, and hopes to spread his knowledge of music.
